News from e-malt Ukraine: Malt production in April increased with 7,600 metric tonnes versus April 2004

In April 2005 Ukraine produced about 28,000 metric tonnes of malt that is an increase by 37% compared to April 2004 and a decrease by 9% compared to March 2005.

For the ten months of the crop year 2004/2005 Ukrainian malt production amounted for 203,000 metric tonnes compared to 175,800 metric tonnes in the same period last year, APK-Inform posted.

The biggest Ukrainian malt manufacturer remains Slavutsky Malting plant, which produced in April 2005 about 6,800 metric tonnes of malt. The second largest maltster was Kharkov based company Malteurop with a malt output of 5,500 thousand tonnes in April 2005. The third place is held by Chernigov based Malteurop Ukraine with 4,100 tonnes and Obolon Brewery with 4,000 tonnes of malt for April 2005.
